More International Students and Scholars Choosing Temple University

Temple University's new Global Living and Learning Community (LLC) has helped increase the number of international students choosing Philadelphia's Temple University by 6 percent in just one year. “The Global LLC is a way for Temple to deepen its commitment to internationalization,” said Brooke Walker, assistant vice president in the Office of International Affairs (OIA). “A big part of this effort is recruiting and welcoming international students and scholars to Temple.”

According to the Global Living and Learning Community website, The Global LLC will "provide domestic and international students an opportunity to build life-long relationships that will connect them both socially and intellectually and to acquire cross-cultural communication skills. As participants of this community, students will learn that while they may have cultural differences, they share many similar values and can succeed together by collaborating on projects to promote globalism on and off campus. This community will be composed of half domestic and half international students"

Students who choose the GLCC as their residence will be presented with opportunities to to enrich their classroom learning through team-based extra-curricular programming, experiential learning, and global community interaction. Students will also collaborate on projects to promote globalism to the university and community at large.
