On August 19th, Marilyn dedicated her show to one truly remarkable woman: Zabeth Teelucksingh, the Executive Director of Global Philadelphia Association.

Zabeth is passionate about raising Philadelphia’s global profile. A seasoned, award-winning international executive, Zabeth has spent her global career, educating organizations and communities on the infinite rewards of thinking globally.

Since 2011, Zabeth has been the Executive Director for the non-profit Global Philadelphia Association (GPA) and, under her leadership, in November 2015, GPA partnered with the City of Philadelphia for membership in the Organization of World Heritage Cities (OWHC), making Philadelphia the first World Heritage City in the US. Zabeth has represented Philadelphia at several OWHC meetings, including Peru, Portugal, Italy, Germany and South Korea.  

The Global Philadelphia Association is holding their third annual World Heritage City Celebration on September 13, 2018 at the Crystal Team Room in Philadelphia. This event celebrates our unique heritages and common bonds by marking World Heritage Cities Solidarity Day. There are 280 other World Heritage Cities across the globe. Zabeth’s mission to promote the global significance of Philadelphia and its international community has grown GPA’s membership, and outreach.

Zabeth has developed multiple signature international programs, including GlobalPhilly™2013 - the first ever international Expo in Philadelphia, which was repeated in 2015 and currently GlobalPhilly 2017. Zabeth also created GlobalKids, PhillyThinks, EIJP (a global journalism program), a robust internship program for millennials and the #IamaGlobalPhiladelphian awareness campaign.

With more than 25 years of international business, b2b and non-profit experience, Zabeth is highly skilled in all aspects of Strategy, Communications and Branding with a global vision. Before joining GPA, Zabeth served in several international roles in the U.S. and in Europe. A frequent Public Speaker and Moderator on all things global, Zabeth has received the Philadelphia Business Journal “Women of Distinction award,” the Smart CEO “Brava Award”, the Young Caribbean Professional Network, “International Entrepreneur of the Year Award,” and The Walnut Club, “Walnut Award.”
