PHL on the Road to Paris' Reception

Thursday, November 19, 2015 - 5:00pm - 7:00pm
Liberty View Ballroom, Independence Visitors Center 599 Market Street Philadelphia, PA 19106
United States

The PHL region is actively involved, through multiple public and private channels, in supporting the U.N.-convened Conference of Parties (COP21) meeting taking place in Paris in December of this year.

Thanks to the breakthrough reached by Presidents Obama and Xi in Beijing last November, we are now all on 'The Road to Paris' where the world's heads of state are expected to ratify the first-ever global climate change action plan.

Cities are emerging as key actors on this stage. Our reception brings together PHL local government and Economic Development Organization representative together with business, academic and non-profit leaders, all of whom are involved in our city/region's effort to support the COP21 process.

The event highlights a local initiative -- supported by the City of Philadelphia's Commerce Department, the World and U.S. Business Councils for Sustainable Development, the Delaware Valley Green Business Council, the China Partnership of Greater Philadelphia and a group of U.S.- and French-headquartered companies -- to help advance the Energy Efficient Buildings (EEB) agenda at the upcoming COP21 meeting in Paris.
