On September 26th, Al Día News Media will be hosting a September Speakers Series event featuring Former Surgeon General Dr. Antonia Novello at the Union League of Philadelphia. Doctor Novello was the first female, as well as the first Latino to serve as Surgeon General. She led the “Healthy Children Ready to Learn” initiative, and currently serves as Vice President of Women and Children’s Health Policy & Affairs at Disney Children’s Hospital at Florida Hospital. 

She was also awarded the Legion of Merit medal by former Secretary of State Colin Powell. Today, she serves as Vice President of Women and Children’s Health Policy & Affairs at Disney Children’s Hospital at Florida Hospital. Her ideas and vision will engage an audience of corporate leaders, elected officials, and other decision makers from the northeast corridor.
