Apply now to the 2017 Greater Philadelphia Leadership Exchange (deadline: May 16th, 2017)

The Greater Philadelphia Leadership Exchange is an initiative of the Economy League to develop leaders of business, civic, and government organizations into visionaries dedicated to making Greater Philadelphia a world class region.

Through in-region programming and out-of-region learning visits, the Leadership Exchange provides a unique opportunity for participants to build connections with top business, civic, and governmental leaders and to develop a deeper understanding of the Philadelphia region.

Now in its 12th year, the program has a strong track record of exposing participants to new insights and ideas; forging connections across sectors and industries; and strengthening a community of leaders who are shaping the region’s future.

2017: New Models for Addressing New Challenges

This year’s theme will look at the dramatic transformations taking place in many of our core institutions and leading businesses. In Greater Philadelphia and across the U.S., bedrock institutions ranging from government to philanthropy to the media are being forced to change the way they operate. This fall, we’ll hear from forward-looking local and national leaders in media, philanthropy, business, and government who are coming up with novel approaches to stay competitive amidst evolving pressures. Topics will include journalism’s changing business model, new models for philanthropic investment, and how local governments are responding to record-low levels of public trust and tight budgets.

We’ll explore this theme through thought-provoking speakers, interactive panel discussions, and half-day regional explorations where participants see and experience first-hand some of the exciting things happening in the region that they might otherwise not hear about. Past regional explorations have included visits to Upper Darby to learn about immigrant entrepreneurship; to Camden to see the revitalization efforts happening there; and to the Lower Schuylkill River to learn about the redevelopment underway to support the region’s energy sector and a new innovation district.
